Medieval campfire cooking

Medieval campfire cooking

Members of the SCA learn about the past by researching period arts, crafts, and traditions and then experience history by recreating it.

Some of these activities include:

  • Calligraphy & Illumination (Scribal)
  • Cooking and Brewing
  • Fiber arts, such as costuming, embroidery, weaving, and knitting
  • Woodworking
  • Leatherworking
  • Metalworking
  • Music (both vocal and instrumental) and Dance

How Do I Get Started?

If you are interested in learning about a particular craft you can contact the Minister for Arts & Science to see of anyone in your area is knowledgeable and willing to teach.  For more general Cantons host several Arts & Sciences gatherings throughout the year. Many SCA events also include classes on various topics and crafts.  Please see the calendar, or contact the Minister for Arts & Science for more information.
