Seneschal

Seneschals have to do a lot of things. Perhaps the most visible is organizing and holding the meetings; this is part of their larger responsibility to keep communications flowing within the group. One of their key duties is to be the legal representative of the Barony including responsibilities like signing contracts. They also have a variety of other responsibilities like being the Social Media officer (if the group has none), reporting to the Kingdom Seneschal, , advertising for Officer positions, helping people find what or who they need within the group, general communication, etc. This is one of the positions that must be filled for the Barony to remain a Barony.

You can find very detailed information here, including full descriptions of

Who can apply: Anyone who is a paid member of the Society and who lives within the Barony. If you are a Seneschal of any branch or Exchequer of any branch you will need to step down from that position if you are accepted. Also, the Seneschal cannot live with the Exchequer of the same branch.

What are we hoping for: A commitment to the Barony; a willingness to work with others; ability to do paperwork (including read and respond to email)

Time Commitment: Baronial Council Meetings are generally at events within the Barony, normally you must chair these meeting; occasionally there will need to be separate meetings to assist the other members of Council or to sign event contracts.

Aside from Council meetings, much of this can happen online. Reporting is 4x per year. Preparation for meetings can at times require significant time investment as can finding replacements for Council Officers.
