Format for Candidate Meetings
Garb is not required.
The aim will to be to keep the Q&A portion of the meeting to 1 hour followed by polling.
Q&A will be moderated by the Baronial Senenchal, individuals are asked to raise their hand to be added to the queue.
Candidates will be introduced.
The current Baron and Baroness will be given the option to pose the first question for all candidates to provide a response.
Open up questions from the attending populace, all candidates will be given an opportunity to respond.
Polling
Members of good standing and at least 16 years of age to be eligible to participate in polling. Please be prepared to show proof of membership.
Membership numbers will be recorded when the ballot is provided to members.
As per Kingdom Law the polling is a ranked ballot.
5.3.5. Persons polled will assign a unique sequential number from 1 to the number of candidates, with 1 being most preferred, to X being least preferred where X is the number of candidates, to each of the candidates listed on the ballots (ie “1”, “2”, “3” etc.). The ballot is then placed in the ballot box or envelope. Incomplete ballots and/or ballots not ranking the candidates as noted will be considered spoiled and will not be counted.

Timeline
As was mentioned by Their Excellencies Joffr and Dubhese at Feast of the Hare last fall, they intend to pass on the seats of the Barony to successors this year. King Crispin and Queen Laura have announced at FOOL the start of the selection of the Lapin seats during their reign with the intent of celebrating the investiture at Ealdormere Exhibition on August 22, 2026.
As such we will be following the timeline below:
- May 16, 2026 – Announcement of the selection period at Fruits of Our Labours.
- June 12, 2026 (midnight) – deadline for submitting Letters of Intent to the Baronial Senechal and the Kingdom Senechal by midnight on Friday June 12, 2026.
- June 20, 2026 – Candidates announced at Bunny Ball. Letters of Intent to be shared with the populace.
- June 21 – July 17th – Candidate Meetings and Polling – Dates currently to be determined but will aim to align with already occurring within the Barony.
- July 17th, 2026 – Completion of Polling.
- Torwyn Hill – Successful candidates announced.
- August 22, 2026 – Baronial Investiture at Ealdormere Exhibition
The Requirements to be considered for the Baronial seats:
- Member is good standing with the SCA
- Reside within the boundaries of the Barony
- 18 years of age and above
