Letter to the Barony; Feast of the Hare, QPT


Greetings unto the industrious populace of Skraeling Althing from Baron Shahid and Baroness Catherine.

This autumn we had the pleasure of attending another fine Feast of the Hare. This is a special event for Us, and We were not disappointed with the wonderful turnout and activities. We Held two ferocious tournaments, on for armoured combat and one for rapier combat. The armoured combat was a grueling best of three round robin and the rapier was a sudden death, single life tourney. Congratulations to The Honourable Lord Edward of Flaming Sky and Lord Nathart, Our new armoured and rapier champions.

We would also like to congratulate the following people who were given awards in Their Magesties court. Congratulations to THL Alais Inndenti de Poitiers for recieving a Maiden’s Heart, to Lady Gwendolyn of Aldburg for her Scarlet Banner, to Lord Consaidin Breathnach and Lady Sorcha An TAcra Gearr for receiving their Award of Arms, and finally to Dame Helen of Greyfells for having her name recorded forevermore onto the Scroll of Honour.

During Our afternoon court We were pleased to award the following:

  • Great Chalice of Skraeling Althing: Lady Song Zidie
  • Hare Valiant: Lord Stephen of Cornwall (held over from Summer Siege)
  • Tantony: David the Younger

The next week, We attended Queen’s Prize Tourney. It was wonderful to see so many Skraels in attendance at a very successful A&S event. As always we were greatly impressed by the wonderful work Our barony produces. We had, by Our count, thirteen entrants from Our barony, including His Excellency:

We would especially like to congratulate Baron Giovanni de Enzinas on receiving his writ to be put on vigil for the Master of the Order of Defence.  He is the first Ealdormerian who has received this honour. Congratulations to him, We are extremely proud. His vigil will be held at Practicum.

The Great Baronial Bead Challenge has ended.  Thank you to all who participated, we hope you enjoyed it as much as We did.  Taxes for next year will be announced in January.
