Greetings unto the resplendent populace of Skraeling Althing from your newly minted Baron and Baroness, Shahid and Catherine,
We would like to thank the Barony for all of your support leading up to and during Our investiture. We truly could not have done it without you.
Throughout Our years in the Barony Our noble predecessors, Their Excellencies Giovanni and Lucia, have constantly inspired Us with their joy, service, and dedication while upon the High Seats of Skraeling Althing. We are deeply honoured to have been selected as their heirs.
We are also inspired by the people of this Barony. Skraelings are an industrious, talented, and fun-loving bunch. It was Our joy to witness so many of you receive recognition from the hands of Their Royal Majesties at the Feast of the Hare. We wish to congratulate Their Excellencies Giovanni and Lucia d’Enzinas on their Court Baronies, The Honourable Lady Alais de Poitiers on her induction into the Order of the Crucible, Lord Cennèdig of Flichesburg on his Award of the Scarlet Banner, Her Excellency Kersteken Janzdochtere, Lady Gina Dragoni, and Lady Kaðlín of Harrowgate Heath on their Awards of the Orion, Lord Duncan Gabha MacLachlan MacLeod and Lady Eleanor de Grismontes on Awards of the Maiden’s Heart, and Lord Konstantin Voronov, Lady Lucie Peltiere and Lord Tristan of Caldrithig for their Awards of Arms. These awards are well deserved and We are proud of each and every one of you!
We also had the honour of inducting into the Order of the Hare Salient Their Excellencies Giovanni and Lucia d’Enzinas for all their years of dedicated service to the Barony.
At Feast of the Hare We also selected two new Baronial Champions. Lord Michael of Easterbrooke as was victorious on the field and has accepted the mantle of Our Armoured Combat Champion. We look forward to having him fight at His Excellency’s side, and to represent the great skill of arms that comes from our barony. Lady Nakahara Masako has graciously accepted the Great Chalice of Skraeling Althing. This award is given to an individual or individuals who are seen as exemplars of authenticity in their recreation, and whose qualities of service, hospitality, courtesy, dress and deportment are foremost.
We also had the pleasure of personally welcoming Marrigan Venaticus Sagittaria and Sigurd of Caldrithig with Bunny Tails.
We always love hearing about the good things people are doing in this Barony. We would encourage anyone who feels a gentle is deserving of an award, either Kingdom or Baronial, to please write them in. Skraeling Althing has an online form here, and the Ealdormere form is here.
