Greetings unto the industrious populace of Skraeling Althing from Baron and Baroness Shahid and Catherine.
We were joined by many from the Barony at Break the Back of Winter this past weekend in Our Canton of Greyfells. This is a wonderful event, and We enjoyed it immensely.
It hosted our first Armoured Combat tourney of the year, a retained wounds bear-pit tourney, which, at the end of a long grueling fight found Baron Amelius Claudius Rattanicus, Her Majesty’s Champion to be the eventual winner.
At the same time, there were two arts and sciences competitions – a blind A&S and the largess dirty dozen derby tourney. Congratulations to Luna Tichborne for being the winner of the Blind A&S competition. Further congratulations to Lady Lady Kaisa Haapalaine for her victory in the Dirty Dozen Donation Derby (4D) tourney.
During Court we named Luna Tichborne, Luke, and family as Friends of the Hare before they begin their long voyage overseas. They will be missed, and we look forward to having them again return to our shores.
We were then graced with an amazing Tudor feast, full of flavour and richness. Many thanks to Lord John Moran and the rest of the team for a fantastic feast, complete with entertainments.
We would particularly like to thank all of the artisans who donated largesse to the 4D tourney. Your generosity is inspiring. We will be presenting the largesse earmarked for Kingdom to Their Majesties at Their Coronation. For those who were unable to attend, a gallery of the largesse presented to Us is available here.
In Service,
Shahid and Catherine
Baron and Baroness of Skraeling Althing
