Greetings unto the inspiring populace of Skraeling Althing from Baron Shahid and Baroness Catherine.
As the old year wanes and the new year begins, We would like to bring back an old custom: Baronial Moots. Input from and discussion by the populace is an important part of Our Barony. While We speak to many of you at events and practices, We would like to set aside a dedicated time to talk about the Barony with all of you.
We will hold four moots per year, once a year in each Canton. Moots will be scheduled on an evening or weekend, rather than at an event (because we’re all so busy at events already) and will not be in garb. They will be chaired by the Baronial seneschal (or the Canton seneschal if the Baronial seneschal is unavailable). Like the Kingdom moots, comments/topics can be sent anonymously to the chair.
The order of the moots will be as follows:
- Sometime in Jan – Mar: Canton of Harrowgate Heath
- Sometime in April-Jun: Canton of Greyfells
- Sometime in Jul-Sep: Stronghold of Tor Brant
- Sometime in Oct-Dec: Canton of Caldrithig
